As with most new web ideas, nothing new, but a focussed new use. Voice to text applications and services have been around to varying degrees of success. The original thinking was to replace the secretary, i.e. managers dictated into machines that converted so speech to text. these are the kind of scare-mongering approaches that has people rushing around crying “a computer is taking my job!”. Rarely happens - the human element is always essential. I am using this tool to post to the blog. I quickly tired of writing long copious blog posts (most of which I deleted as they were just plain novie and boring). I now mostly use Twitter and Quickpost to post regularly. And will give this service a go and see how much I use it …
